Head (Legal & Compliance) - A New-age Urban mobility and Facility Management Company - Bengaluru

Job Summary: A leading innovative technology startup is looking for a Legal & Compliance Head who can safeguard the organization's legal interests, ensure regulatory compliance, and support business growth through effective contract management and risk mitigation. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing commercial agreements, statutory compliance, legal advisory, governance frameworks, and stakeholder management across the organization.

About the Organization: An urban mobility and facilities management company focused on optimizing parking and vehicle-related operations for today’s fast-moving cities and forward-thinking businesses.

Location: HSR Layout, Bengaluru

Designation: Legal & Compliance Head

Roles and Responsibilities:

Legal & Contract Management

• Draft, review, negotiate, renew, and manage agreements with clients, landlords, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate contract terms and conditions to safeguard the company's commercial and legal interests.
• Liaise with client legal teams and external counsel to resolve contractual matters.
• Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and documentation.
• Ensure legally sound and commercially favorable agreements across business operations.

Compliance & Governance

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable central, state, local, labor, and industry-specific regulations.
• Advise leadership on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks associated with business operations and expansion.
• Develop and implement policies, processes, and governance frameworks to strengthen organizational compliance.
• Support employee-related compliance matters, labor laws, workplace regulations, and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external legal advisors whenever required.
• Maintain legal records, compliance trackers, licenses, permits, and statutory documentation.

Risk Management & Business Advisory

• Identify legal and regulatory risks proactively and recommend practical business-oriented solutions.
• Partner with business, operations, HR, and finance teams to support organizational objectives while mitigating risk.
• Provide legal guidance on strategic initiatives, commercial negotiations, and expansion plans.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Indian Contract Law, Corporate Law, Labor Laws, and Regulatory Compliance.
• Experience handling commercial agreements, lease agreements, negotiations, and multi-state compliance requirements.
• Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and external legal advisors.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory. LLM or additional compliance qualifications preferred.

Experience: 7+ years of experience in Corporate Legal, Commercial Contracts, Compliance, or Business Legal Advisory roles.

Working days: Monday to Saturday
