Senior Finance Manager - An EdTech Startup - Mumbai

Job Summary: An EdTech and early childhood learning company  is keen to hire a Chartered Accountant with atleast 5+ years of experience post articleship for the role of Senior Finance Manager. This role is responsible for leading the organization’s financial operations and strategy while ensuring compliances, reporting while driving business growth and profitability. It involves partnering closely with leadership to provide strategic insights, manage risks, and optimize financial performance by leading a finance team.

It delivers impactful programs across international and Indian markets with the support of a diverse and experienced team of more than 200 professionals. The startup caters to over 600+ schools and has delivered courses to over 2,00,000 students across the country. The startup is also a winner of the prestigious National Awards Startup 2021.

Location: Andheri East, Mumbai

Designation: Senior Finance Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Strategy:

• Develop and execute financial strategies to optimize business growth and profitability.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide strategic financial insights to leadership for decision-making.

2. Financial Control & Compliance:

• Oversee and be hands-on on financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GST, TDS, FEMA, CST, etc.).
• Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax filings in coordination with auditors and consultants.
• Ensure timely and accurate GST filings and adherence to local and international tax laws.

3. Accounting & Reporting:

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and reconciliations.
• Monitor and optimize working capital, receivables, and payables.
• Implement strong financial governance and internal control measures.

4. Cost & Risk Management:

• Assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Optimize cost structures and improve operational efficiencies.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity management to ensure financial stability.

5. Business Partnering & Decision Support:

• Work closely with department heads and senior leadership to align financial and operational goals.
• Support financial negotiations, investment planning, and business expansion strategies.
• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis for business decisions.

6. Team Leadership & Systems Improvement:

• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Enhance financial systems, automation, and ERP implementation for improved efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, analytics, and business intelligence. 

Key Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and financial regulations.
• Hands-on experience with financial reporting, P&L management, and compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, financial software, and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment 

Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant

Experience: 5+ years in financial management, controlling, or leadership roles.

Working days: Monday to Friday
