Senior Accountant - A Growing Casualwear Startup- Bengaluru 

Job Summary: A growing casualwear startup is keen to hire a Senior Accountant with 5+ years of relevant experience who will own monthly and annual book closure, manage reconciliations and GST/TDS compliance, and track cash flow, vendor payments and collections, handles e-commerce and inventory accounting (returns, discounts, platform fees, settlements) and coordinate with auditors and tax consultants.

About the company: Our client is a fast-growing casualwear startup brand based in Bengaluru, building contemporary everyday fashion for a young, style-conscious audience, selling across its own website and major marketplaces.

Location: Vasanth Nagar, Bengaluru

Designation: Senior Accountant

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• End-to-End Accounting: Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, provisions, fixed assets and accurate maintenance of books of accounts.
• Financial Closing & Reporting: Own monthly and annual book closure, prepare schedules, trial balance and management reports, and support financial statement preparation.
• Reconciliations & Controls: Review bank, vendor, customer, inventory-related and payment gateway reconciliations; investigate and close variances.
• Statutory & Tax Compliance: Manage GST and TDS reconciliations, return preparation, tax documentation and compliance calendars; coordinate with consultants where needed.
• AP/AR & Cash Flow: Oversee vendor payments, customer collections, ageing reports and cash flow tracking.
• E-commerce & Inventory Accounting: Account for sales returns, discounts, platform fees, settlements and inventory movements, where applicable.
• Audit Coordination: Prepare audit schedules, provide supporting records, resolve auditor queries and strengthen accounting controls.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in end-to-end accounting, compliance and reconciliations.
• Sound understanding of GST, TDS, financial reporting and month-end/year-end closing.
• Experience with Tally, Zoho Books or similar accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Ability to independently manage deadlines, investigate variances and coordinate with auditors.
• Exposure to apparel inventory, D2C sales or e-commerce marketplace settlements is an advantage.
• Candidates from apparel, e-commerce or D2C businesses preferred.

Education: B.Com/M.Com or equivalent graduate qualification; Semi-qualified CA (CA Inter) also eligible.

Experience: Graduates: 5+ years of relevant experience; Semi-qualified CAs: 1–2 years of experience after articleship.
