Job Summary: A leading US based AI software company is keen to hire a Financial Modelling Expert candidate with 3+ years of hands-on experience in ownership of a complete model or analysis used in a live transaction, investment, financing, credit, or operating decision. Candidates should be able to explain the source data, assumptions, accounting, sensitivities, and exactly what they built or decided.

About the company: A Y combinator backed US based AI software company that helps businesses automate complex professional tasks by training specialized AI agents for finance, legal, coding, and other business functions.

Location: Remote 

Designation: Financial Modelling Expert

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Build financial models from scratch across a range of finance use cases.
• Review and improve models built by other finance experts.
• Create realistic finance scenarios, assumptions, and supporting source materials.
• Build detailed revenue, cost, working capital, capital expenditure, debt, covenant, valuation, and scenario schedules.
• Work with messy or incomplete information and turn it into a clear analytical structure.
• Identify weak assumptions, broken logic, missing schedules, and oversimplified analysis.
• Explain modeling choices clearly and defend the logic behind your work.

Requirement:

• Ability to explain financial modeling decisions clearly.
• Recent practical experience is prioritized over seniority alone.
• Experience in private credit, credit, real estate, private equity, debt capital markets, risk, asset-based lending, asset-backed securities, quantitative finance, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investment banking, valuation, or similar.
• Strong ability to build models from scratch.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills.
• Expert-level understanding of finance concepts like cash flow, valuation, leverage, liquidity, capital structure and others related to their finance domain
• Ability to work independently with ambiguous problems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal English.

Preferable to have:

• Experience supporting U.S.-listed companies, U.S. clients, or U.S. banking/investor teams.
• Hands-on experience with SEC filings (10-K/10-Q), financial modeling, reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and U.S. GAAP (ASC 606, 842, 805, 718, 740, 326, 470).
• Experience with debt, credit, restructuring, commercial real estate, asset-backed securities, asset-based lending, or structured finance models.
• Experience creating or reviewing modeling tests, case studies, or training materials.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools, automation, or data workflows.

Education: Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 

Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in roles such as: Investment Banking, Credit, Corporate Finance / Financial Planning and Analysis, Debt Capital Markets, Private Equity, Risk, Quantitative Finance, Private Credit.

Working days: Monday to Friday
