Chartered Accountant - Domain Expert -  An AI Saas Fintech Startup, Mumbai

Job Summary: Our client is keen to hire a Chartered Accountant (CA) to join as a part-time domain expert. The ideal candidate will work directly with the founders to design and shape the product, turning expertise in financial close and compliance into workflows that software can execute. This is not a consulting role—it’s about building a product that transforms how finance teams work.

About the Company: Our client is an early-stage AI-powered SaaS fintech startup, founded by two IIT alumni. The company is building AI-first finance software designed to transform how finance teams in India operate—helping businesses close their books in hours, not weeks.

Stage: The startup is currently pre-product with no employees yet. Over the past few months,  the founders have engaged with 50+ Chartered Accountants and finance professionals to validate the problem to raise institutional venture capital once to have early traction. 

Finance and accounts teams in India still rely heavily on Excel, even when using ERP systems like Tally or Zoho. These tools act as record but don’t handle the actual work of reconciliation, compliance, and reporting. The company is building an AI execution layer that automates financial close, compliance, and reporting—freeing teams to focus on judgment and decision-making.

About Founders: Both founders bring 10+ years of experience as product and engineering leaders in fintech and global organizations. Their backgrounds span Visa, Navi, Angel One, InCred, Protium, and Scripbox, with expertise across payments, lending, insurance, and mutual funds.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with founders to design financial close workflows (record-to-report).

• Document processes, decisions, and compliance steps for product development.

• Provide domain expertise on Indian accounting, tax, financials and audit requirements.

• Contribute 12–15 hours per week (2–3 hours daily) with frequent collaboration.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualification: Chartered Accountant with 3–6 years post-articleship experience.

• Expertise: Strong knowledge of record-to-report (R2R) and financial close in India.

• Capability: Operating at a financial controller level.

• Preferred Experience: E-commerce or D2C, plus corporate finance exposure.

• Commitment: Hands-on involvement, not just advisory.

• Location: Remote (flexible hours).

• Start Date: Immediate. Engagement duration 3–6 months, with potential full-time offer.
